Kiki Lucas is currently the Resident Choreographer of Mosaic Dance Project and has just presented her first three successful concerts to the Miami area. Prior to this, she was the Resident Choreographer for 8 seasons and company dancer of the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company for 11 seasons in Houston, TX. She was also the director of the Met Too Youth Company, jazz faculty at T.U.T.S and teacher to many students in the Houston area. Kiki was interviewed for the 2014 February issue of Dance Teacher Magazine and was named as one of the 100 creative people in Houston-by-Houston Press in 2012. In 2012, Kiki’s work “Rebound” was selected to represent Houston Met Dance at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival Inside/Out series in Massachusetts. Her piece “ The Vessel” was also chosen in 2014 for Jacob’s Pillow. She gained her BA in Dance from Point Park University and started her career in Los Angeles, CA before moving to TX. Since then, her teaching and performance career have expanded across the United States and more. She has recently returned from Argentina where she is a guest faculty/teacher for Congreso Internacional de musicales y operas, ViceVersa Studio and Act-n-Art in Buenos Aires. She has also taught at Miluzka dance studios in Perira, Manizales, Bogota, Colombia as well as her 2nd workshop for CNDJ in Zamora, Mexico at the Congreso Nacional de Danza jazz. Kiki’s choreography has been created and presented for the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, HMDC Met Too Youth Company, The Kennedy Center (ACDF National Gala), Point Park University (Pittsburgh Dance Connections Concert), Towson University (MD), University of Hartford (CT), Spotlight Awards, ESPN, San Diego State University, Los Angeles Carnival Choreographer’s Ball (CA), Midwestern Arts Conference (IN), Fort Worth Dance Festival, Hawaii Pacific University, University of Central Oklahoma (OK), RACE Dance Company (OK) Erie Conservatory of Dance (PA), SCAPA (School for Creative and Performing Arts) in Lexington, KY, CREATE dance FL, as well as Marygrove College of Detroit, MI.
