Elise Gillum

Elise was raised in San Jose, California and started training in dance at age 4. When she was 11, she decided to pursue ballet as a career. She went on to study at Ballet San Jose School, and then on to the San Francisco Ballet School, where she had the opportunity to perform with the company and school in several productions, such as: ‘The Nutcracker’ as young Clara, ‘Western Symphony’, and ‘Don Quixote’. From there, she went on to train at City Ballet School SF, under the direction of Galina Alexandrova, and studied the Vaganova method. While at City Ballet SF, she had the opportunity to travel to Russia with her classmates and study at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Her professional experience includes performing with Ballet San Jose, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Grand Rapids Ballet. In 2017 she attended the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s Teacher’s Training workshop.
